Directions for Use
- Preparation: Select appropriate vein, apply tourniquet, and perform routine skin disinfection. Remove protective cap from the blood needle.
- Venipuncture: Insert the vacutainer needle at proper angle into the selected vein. Observe flashback in transparent tubing to confirm successful venous access.
- Blood Collection: Release tourniquet once flashback is observed. Insert vacuum tube onto the needle holder, piercing the rubber stopper. Negative pressure will draw blood into the collection tube automatically.
- Tube Exchange: When blood flow ceases, remove the filled tube. Insert additional tubes as needed for multiple specimen collection.
- Withdrawal: Remove the blood collection needle from the patient’s vein. Activate the safety retraction mechanism immediately.
- Post-Procedure: Instruct patient to apply pressure for 5 minutes without rubbing. Gently invert specimen tubes 6 times for proper mixing with anticoagulant.
- Disposal: Discard the used blood needle in an approved sharps container.
